Russia Ukraine War Live, Mariupol Fall to Russia: Russia claimed to have captured Mariupol   Friday in what would be its biggest victory yet in its war with Ukraine, after a nearly three-month siege that reduced much of the strategic port city to a smoking ruin, with over 20,000 civilians feared dead. Russia also launched what appeared to be a major assault to seize the last remaining Ukrainian-held territory in the province of Luhansk, part of Donbas. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin the “complete liberation” of the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol — the last stronghold of Ukrainian resistance — and the city as a whole, spokesman Igor Konashenkov said. Amid Gyanvapi row, Owaisi's fountain claim with a swipe at 'sanghi geniuses'

IMIM chief  Asaduddin Owaisi  on Saturday said fountains are an essential feature of Islamic architecture since at least the 7th century, amid the ongoing row over the Gyanvapi mosque- Kashi Vishwanath temple. Sharing links of Wikipedia and an old article of the  New York Times  about electricity-free fountains, Owaisi said such fountains work on gravity and that ancient Romans and Greeks had fountains dating to the 1st and 6th century BC. As regional parties bristle at remark, Rahul Gandhi clarifies: ‘Congress doesn’t want to be Big Daddy’

After his remark, that the Congress alone can fight the   BJP   as regional parties neither have an ideology nor a centralised approach, upset many parties in the opposition, senior Congress leader  Rahul Gandhi has now opted for a more nuanced position . He said his remarks in Udaipur were misconstrued and that he does not consider the Congress as “the big daddy.” Gandhi said the Congress is in no way “superior” to the other opposition parties. He said all the parties are fighting the same battle but added that the “ideological battle that is taking place is between the national vision of the RSS and the national vision of the Congress.” During an interaction in London, Gandhi also said that the Congress was not winning elections because of polarisation and the dominance of the media by the BJP.
